Weronika & Chris - Rustic Cyprus wedding

In June this year I had the pleasure in photographing and being part of a beautiful rustic wedding for the wonderful Weronika and Chris. The wedding reception took place in the picturesque mountain peak of ‘Vyzakia’, a village situated in the Nicosia District of Southern Cyprus. The ceremony took place in the old church of Archangelos Michael in Nicosia, believed to have been built in the 9th or 10th century, it is an outstanding example of Cypriot Byzantine architecture.

Attention to detail and an atmosphere created by many fine elements is what I love and this wedding had it all. What more could a photographer ask for, I had a wonderful couple, amazing location, a venue built by the grooms father, saxophone played by the brides father and was surrounded by wonderful people throughout the day. I always aim to photograph every possible detail of a wedding and capture the essence of the day, starting from the bride and groom preparations and traditional ceremonies in the morning and everything there onwards leading up to the reception. From the homemade Jam favours with embroidery (Kentima) made by auntie to the wooden table numbers made by the grooms father, the plates being broken on the dance floor, guns being fired in the air and last but not least, people having fun!! :)

Weronika and Chris, thank you for choosing me to capture your special day and congratulations once again, I wish you all the very best for your future life together xxx
